Zachary from A to Z

We are on winter break this week so I've been trying to think of things to do that keep Zachary busy and not playing the wii all day. He and I decided to make an ABC book with Zachary as the star. He and I thought of things that we had that started with each letter of the alphabet. We had fun making it together. We forgot to do X so right now our book is missing it but we'll get it there soon. A is for airplane.
M is for mommy.Z is for Zachary Zebra.

To see the rest of the pictures check out my albulm on facebook....

A basket full of fun

We asked Zachary to put his toys away and this is what happens!
Actually this is mommy having fun with the baskets. :)
Shelby Grace really didn't like it too much. Zachary thought he would try and fit in the basket too.
Looks like he didn't like it too much either-especially when you get stuck!

Hair Clips

Zachary has always enjoyed wearing Shelby Grace's bows. Daddy didn't like that too much but he thinks these hair clips are manly. :)

Show those pearly whites!

I can't believe that my baby girl already has two teeth! At 4 1/2 months old, Shelby Grace had two teeth break through this week. She had been drooling a lot and fussy but I figured it was just the cold that we had been passing around. I couldn't believe it when I found them. Zachary has always told Shelby Grace that she couldn't eat because she didn't have teeth but now he says, "Shelby Grace, you have teeth but you still can't eat because you just have a little bit."

I want three!

We have one of the strangest three year olds. Zachary loves to eat cereal and I think he would eat it three meals a day if he could. His new thing is making combos of his cereal. Here is a picture of his cereal choice one day- two kinds of Cheerios, original and honey nut, and a Korean honeycomb type cereal. He keeps us on our toes. We never know what combination he will ask for. Usually it is always three kinds but the other day he asked for five! We didn't even have 5 different kinds of cereal. We love that we have Zachary to always keep us laughing! :)

Tickle my toes

Look what I can do mom! Shelby Grace seems to know when her clothes are gone and she goes strait for the toes but won't reach for them dressed. Guess she enjoys her freedom. :)

I think she likes them.

Chats with Zach- Episode #10

Sadly I haven't posted any Zacharyisms lately but that doesn't mean he hasn't given us plenty of things to laugh about. My only regret is that I don't write some of them down sooner as I tend to forget them. Here are a few that I remember.

While we were at Grandma's house over Christmas, we talked a lot about Mommy's mommy and Mommy's grandma, etc. Since Shelby Grace has arrived, the idea of a baby coming out of your tummy has also been a hot topic around our house. I think we have a few things to clear up with Zachary in this area.
Zachary on where Mommy came from- "Mommy you came out of daddy's tummy when he was a girl."

We tried to teach him that baby's come out of girl tummies but I don't think he gets it as the other day he said, "When I get big, I'm going to be a mommy and have a baby in my tummy." We tried to convince him that he can be the daddy but he has decided that he really wants to be a mommy. He seems to have a little trouble with this gender thing as today he told us that Shelby Grace was going to grow up to be a daddy.

Sticking to the future talk, we have also talked a lot about getting married.
"I'm going to get married when I grow up when I'm a girl." We told him that he gets to marry the girl so he started to pick girls that he wanted to marry. He chose Ms. Ellen and then Kacy from downstairs. When I kept telling him that I wanted him to stay with me forever and never grow up, he agreed with me and said that he would never get married and stay with me forever. I hope he remembers that promise when he grows up!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zachary loves to tell you he needs or wants something and when you ask him "why?" he always says, "that's why" but never gives a reason.
"Why do you need help Zachary?" "That's why."
"Why is the sky blue?" "That's why."
"Why do you want to play wii?" "That's why."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next story comes with some pictures. Zachary was hiding in the pillow this morning and said....
"Guess what I am?"
"We don't know Zachary- a pillow?"
"No- a stove"

That's our boy!

A girl's gotta squeal!

Woohoo! Mail!!

Zachary received a very special package from Grandma the other day. For Christmas he had received Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Bullet Bill figurines; his favorite gifts by far. They are the characters from Mario Cart on Nintendo. Mario and Yoshi got lost in Grandma's couch and we had to return to Korea without them. Grandma worked hard to find them and was very successful. (OK so she just bought a new Yoshi but she did find Mario). Grandma put them in the mail and every day Zachary would ask, "Is Mario in the mailbox?". He was so excited when the finally arrived. The most ironic part, after about 5 minutes of having them in his posession again, he couldn't find Mario again! We have to keep better tabs on these guys! Thanks Grandma for the mail!

Two of a Kind

Patrick and I have had many conversations about who our children look like. We know for sure they are our kids but don't really think they look like us much at all. We have always said that Shelby Grace really looks like my sister. I happened to have a picture of my sister as a baby on my computer and my mom says she is about 4 months old in the picture. If my daughter takes after someone other than me, I'm glad it is my beautiful sister.

4 months

It's so hard to believe Shelby Grace is 4 months old already. She is getting so big. She is smiling all the time. She loves to stand up and chew on her hands. She is starting to learn what sounds she can make and has realized that she can squeal. She enjoys sitting in her exersaucer and grabbing at the toys on her bouncy seat. Shelby Grace has so much personality now and it is so much fun to interact with her. She LOVES being on the changing table and having her diaper changed. It is her happy place. She also will let you know when she doesn't like something or is very unhappy. She is quite the opinionated little girl already. We love our little girl and can't believe she is getting so big.

Keep holding on!

Shelby Grace has a grip of steel. She loves to grab things and has had a strong grip since the day she was born. She often holds onto your finger when you hold her passy or her bottle. She loves to hold on to my shirt when I nurse her. I'm even amazed to watch her sleep. She holds on to the sheet so tightly. If she is positioned right in the pack-n-play, she will even hold on to the mattress. Keep holding on and don't let go girl!
