For those of you who know me well, you should enjoy this post. Zachary has discovered his love for a new condiment, MUSTARD! Today for lunch he pretty much asked to have some hot dog WITH his mustard. I think he belongs to me alright. He just sat and dipped his fingers in the mustard and licked them. He has already indulged in dipping his chips in mustard like mommy. Next step, mustard sandwiches!
After our trip to Subway, we got the chance to go bowling with Ellen and her friend Kristi who was visiting from the states. We had a great time. Except for the slight Korean food smell at times that made me sick and then the fear of was it safe for a pregnant woman to bowl, we had fun. Zachary enjoyed himself immensely! 
I don't WHY it is taken me 8 months to learn that there was a Subway restaurant in Daejon. I was under the impression that they had all been removed. We used to have one outside of the school but they took it away a couple years ago. Well last week I found out it still existed just a good bit away and finding Subway became my goal for spring break. I had a Korean friend write down in Korean how to get there so I could show the taxi driver and after our baby doctor appointment, we were on our way. (Bless you Mrs. Jung!)
. He did wake up in time to eat a whole bag of tortilla chips and drink milk from a Subway mug. Korea is so big on recycling that since we ate there, we got our drink in a reusable plastic glass. Easter morning was a little different this year. We had no sunrise service to attend and the Pinho family had nursery today so we didn't get even get to go to a church service. Thankfully though, just because we didn't make it into a church building today it doesn't change the fact that Jesus paid the ultimate price for us on the cross and rose from the dead on that beautiful Easter morning just as he had promised. The weather in Daejon on Easter morning was also pretty lousy, cold and rainy, but yet knowing that it was the day to celebrate our Lord's Resurrection made the day beautiful. AND we were together with our 'family' in Korea.
Zachary awoke to find his Easter basket filled with goodies from mom, dad, and Grandma. He has mostly enjoyed the robin egg candies Grandma sent and the new Hermie movie, Busby and Grumblebees. I have enjoyed the movie too :) "You've got to be-have in the bee-hive, uh-huh" (sang Elvis style). I hope he learns that message :).
Side note- I am very thankful for my friend Charmaine, one of the high school counselors, who surprised me with some Easter grass and even some Peeps! I never thought about packing grass when we moved to Korea. I am so thankful for this community we live in.
We celebrated Easter lunch with Matt, Amy, Jaci and baby Jacob. Mike is away on a LASA trip with week.
Even though we didn't get to go to 'church', Mommy still made us dress up in our Sunday best for Easter. 
After Zachary's nap, we got to dye Easter eggs with Amy and Matt. Zachary has participated in this adventure twice before but this is the first year he remembers. A friend of mine was able to find white eggs at Homever for me so we wouldn't have to try and dye brown eggs. There were four spaces empty in the carton becuase of severely cracked eggs (before they even got boiled) so Zachary filled them with his plastic eggs. (Notice the four colored eggs in the picture above- we had not started coloring the eggs eat but Zachary would not go for empty holes. )
Zachary thought this adventure was truly amazing. I mean who can truly understand how you can plop and egg into a cup and it turns colors! Amazing!
Aren't our eggs beautiful? Not the most creative in Ervin family history but with a two year old making the decisions, there wasn't much we could do about it. Some of them could rank to past years but not many. At least the purple eggs were pretty. :)
Seth and Zachary were so excited to be together as always. Whatever Seth does, Zachary has to do as well. When we starting finding eggs all he wanted to do was show Seth instead of keeping them.

After everyone found their eggs, the little ones helped each other open them up. They were filled with candy! What a great surprise. Of course, the only candy Zachary recognized was the M & M's, after that he didn't really care what he got.

Our church planned an Easter egg hunt today so we thought we would practice before the big event. Zachary highly enjoyed finding eggs around the house. At the beginning of our practicing, he would only shout 'aha!' and stare at the eggs and not pick them up. We had to practice putting them in the basket otherwise he would not have gotten any eggs at the real hunt.
I know these aren't my kids but aunt Jenny has to have her proud moment too. I just have to share these two picture of my nephews, Dawson and Kenan, while they were in New Jersey a few weeks back. Their uncle works at a fire station so they got to go visit. I love their smiles as you can tell they were having the time of their life.
Maybe I just needed to post this because I realize how much I miss the little guys. Next to hearing Zachary call me 'mommy' and Patrick call me 'honey', I love to hear Dawson call 'Jenny' over Skype. Only 107 more days and we get to be reunited for a whole month! We will be together longer than we ever have before and I can't wait. Yes, I am excited to see the rest of the family too, don't worry.
The countdown has begun for home. Most days I am counting down the days until I get to eat Chick-fil-a again but what good would Chick-fil-a be with out my family to share it with. I love my family MORE than Chick-fil-a contrary to what many might believe. :)
On a side note, Zachary loves to look at pictures of Dawson on the fire truck. In fact when we call Dawson, he thinks he is still on the fire truck. I think he is a little bit jealous. Hee hee, the mind of a two year old.Today was an exciting day in the Pinho household. Grandma sent a package for Easter and the most exciting thing was inside. CRISPIX! Zachary's favorite cereal. He grinned from ear to ear when I pulled them out of the box. I only wish I had my camera ready for that exciting moment. It would have been a priceless picture. I think he was ready to eat breakfast even though it was time for bed. He was so excited we had to call Grandma and show her the box of cereal and thank her for our treat. Thanks Grandma for the wonderful Easter present! Only 84 more days and he can have Crispix every day for 2 months!
Finally after many attempts to record Zachary and the many attempts to post this, I think we finally got it right.
I am so thankful for the Early Learning Center, Zachary's school, and his teachers. They have taught him so many wonderful things this year. Most importantly they reinforce our love for God and are assisting us in teaching him the ways of the Lord. He has learned 2 Bible verses so far. It has been a joy to watch him say his verses but also begin to understand what they mean.
Ephesians 6:1 "Children obey your parents in the Lord for it's right." This has become a frequent topic of discussion around our house and he is learning what obey means but that doesn't mean he always does it. It is amazing the things we do not have to be taught as human beings. Zachary is not the only one who has trouble obeying sometimes, we all struggle with it. I am so thankful that in out of our sinful nature, God can bring a new life that is loved and forgiven not matter how many times we disobey. I can't wait for the day when Zachary understands what Jesus did for him on the cross and chooses to ask Jesus into his heart for that new life for himself. I know that will make this momma prouder than anything else he has ever done.

Yesterday it was finally warm enough to eat out on our balcony. The windows were still closed to the outside but check out that sunshine! Spring is coming and we can't wait!
