Shelby Grace on Meds!

It's been sickness at our house as usual. Only this time, Whatever medicine they gave to Shelby Grace had a hyper effect on her. She has had us rolling laughing but keeping us on our toes as well.
She was playing with our xylophone from Africa and decided to combine her fun with the sticks and the water cooler which she has a fascination with but not supposed to touch. She got the drum stick stuck in the spout and when you tried to pull it out, it made the water flow and you got soaked. I had to put a cup underneath so the floor wouldn't be soaked and do some fancy wiggling to get it out. Oh Shelby Grace!

We took a lot of video of Shelby Grace on her hyper trip. I made a little movie out of it. Hope you laugh as much as we did!

Baby Shower Cakes

It is shower season at TCIS so I have been busy making cakes. These two were from two baby showers that I helped host in the past two weeks. I think these are two of my favorite cakes I've made.
The first is a surfboard for our Luau boy baby shower for third time mom, Laura Price.

The second was the pregnant belly cake for our Celebrate Motherhood shower for first time mom, Nikole Mitchell.

Check out the baby foot.

She speaks!

Shelby Grace has had a language explosion this past week. She has said very few words up to this point but will now try and attempt new words. We caught a few on video on share.

My favorite is thank you because she is very Korean and has to bow, even when saying it in English :). Shelby Grace will also teach you a new word in Korean. See if you can learn what 'po-po' is in Korean.

Her list of words she can say. Some of them are her own version of the word but they still count :).
mommy/mama/oma (Korean for mom)

Let's go DRAGONS, Let's go!!

TCIS hosted the 2010 Girl's Soccer APAC tournament. This is a league that consists of teams from all over Asia. We had teams travel from China (Shanghai, Beijing, & Hong Kong) and the Phillippines to come compete. Our Lady Dragons rocked the house and won 2nd place in the tournament! And this was even after having to bring on some new recruits this week to play for APAC because of many injuries and the flu running ramped through our high school. Way to go Lady Dragons! We are so proud of you!

Pottery Class

I have started taking a pottery class with a few ladies from school. We go to a Korean potter's shop for our private lesson. Her name is Sung Mee. She speaks very little English and I speak very little Korean. One of the ladies that goes is Korean-Canadian and speaks fluent Korean. Even when she is not there to help translate, we do okay. There is a lot of modeling and watching going on. So far it has been a lot of fun. I am looking forward to creating with 10 good fingers and no glove. Hopefully I will get to try the wheel soon once my hand is all healed.

My first cup. It has been fired once and then I painted our family on it. I know I am very elementary, what can I say. It will be fired and glazed again and I should get to pick it up next time.

This will be a toothbrush holder when it is done.

My current piece is a flower vase. I think I have found a knew therapeutic crafty love...pottery!

I can do it myself!

Shelby Grace is Miss Independent and waits around for no one if she wants something. She loves to crawl up on the table and help herself to the fruit bowl. She tends to leave her remnants behind to give herself away. Pretty soon I'm just going to put her to work cooking dinner. I think she could handle that!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This year we got to celebrate 35 years of life of a wonderful man. We are so blessed that Patrick is a part of our family. He takes such good care of us and is an absolutely wonderful dad and husband. Though we didn't have a big party, we celebrated together as a family for Patrick.
We love you daddy!! Happy Birthday!

Girl + Chocolate = LOVE

Teaching her right from the start. Chocolate and strawberries are a wonderful combination.

When you run out of strawberries, go for the spoon.

A girl has got to have her chocolate!

Easter Sunday

Shelby Grace was sick on Easter weekend so she and I did not go to church that morning. We missed the opportunity for a family Easter photo. I did get a picture of my two favorite boys. They are pretty handsome aren't they?

After the boys came home from church, we put Shelby Grace in her dress for a little bit and tried to take a few pictures. The outdoor excitement brought on a coughing fit but she made it through and looked beautiful.

Like brother like sister

My handsome boy who takes beautiful pictures when he wants to cooperate. I love these kids!

Easter Baskets

Breakfast included purple waffles. My twist- Jesus is My King waffles since purple represents royalty. :) The kids wanted waffles instead of Cross pancakes. The whip cream was added fun with Easter egg sprinkles.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

We found white eggs in Korea so we were able to dye eggs again. We learned from our experience in Hawaii, not to give Shelby Grace the cups of dye so this year worked out perfect with some stamps we had. She started using her fingers too so it worked out quite well and she made pretty abstract eggs.

Zachary was a lot more focused this time. There wasn't as much going on around him.

Our "egg"cellent handiwork

Some of our fun eggs

Zachary made this egg for me. The other side says "I", the heart stamp and then "U". I have one sweet boy!
