Weekend in Seoul

What a great ending to 2007- spending the weekend in Seoul. We had a wonderful weekend visiting the Kang family in Seoul. The Kangs are friends of Grandpa Jim whohelped us get in contact with them. We had personal tour guides and drivers all weekend- they were soooo generous to us! They picked us up from the train station, took us to lunch and the aquarium, took us to a wonderful Chinese dinner, and tooks us back to the hotel which they had arranged for us. On Sunday they took us on a city bus tour, we got to try Sam Gip Tan, and then an amzing homecooked Korean meal in their home. They spoiled us! We enjoyed spending our time with our new friends and hope that one day soon we can return the favor.

We rode the KTX train up to Seoul. This was Zachary's first time on a "choo-choo- train" and he was sooooooo excited! He woke up Saturday morning saying "go ride choo-choo-train." I think that was the biggest thrill for him.
When we first arrived, they Kangs took us to the Seoul Aquarium at COEX Mall. It was huge! Zachary enjoyed seeing all the fish. Here he is with Hannah (4 years old in American years, 5 years old in Korean years). The aquairium deserves a posting on its own so look for that one too :).

Dinner at Ho Lee Chow Chinese restaurant. Absolutely delicious! Yes Jennifer ate the Chinese food too. :)

Enjoying Sam Gip Tan- Korean chicken soup- Each person gets whole chicken in their pot. It is boiled with a ginsing root, a date, rice, and a clove of garlic inside. Very yummy!

Our new friends- Chris and Sunny Kang and little Hannah- It is Chris' parents who actually know Grandpa Jim. They are in a picture earlier. Sadly, we didn't get a family picture of everyone. I guess that is for our next visit:).

Zachary and Hannah sure enjoyed each other. This is a video of them dancing at the Kang's house on Sunday night. Hannah is two years older than Zachary but he is almost as big. She reminded us so much of our niece Samantha. We can't wait until we can see them all again!
