You know you're a parent when you go to the bathroom with your child sitting on your lap the whole time.
You know you're a parent when wiping someone's snot off their face with your hand because you can't find the tissues doesn't bother you.
You know you're a parent when you can hear your name called at least 50 times in a 2 minute period before 6:00 in the morning.
You know you're a parent when your at home and in your pjs or comfortable clothes by 8:00 every night.
You know you're a parent when hearing a little voice sing "Lord We Thank You" at the dinner table does your heart good.
You know you're a parent when you love a little person so much you are about to burst even though your life has completely changed in two years and you don't even care.

Thanks, Jen for the gentle reminder of what is like to be a parent. Of course, being a mother is much different than being father, as I can't say much for that kind of lap sitting or wiping snot with the bare hand. Maybe some of this has to do with the diffence in generations?
Jennifer, I remember. Not a generation gap here. It's nice to see a parent who enjoys being a parent. Some of our kids don't seem to get a lot of attention from their parents. You wonder why they wanted them in the first place if they have so little time for them. Enjoy Zachary, he will be gone before you know it.
