It feels a little weird to actually post Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving even happened. I guess you know what holiday I'm ready for :). This year was a very strange Thanksgiving though we have very much to be thankful for. It didn't even feel like Thanksgiving on Thursday. Patrick went to work and I was home with two sick kids. Since Thanksgiving is an American holiday and our school is mostly Korean students, we only get a half day off on Friday. Thanksgiving Day pretty much turned into a Thanksgiving Weekend with each day being very different and unique.
We are thankful that we got to spend Thanksgiving evening with our friend Ellen. She is very much apart of our family here in Korea. Zachary has even titled one of the chairs at our table as "Ms. Ellen's seat." After dinner, we enjoyed watching Elf with Ellen and laughing so much that we kept Zachary up. Our Thanksgiving meal included sweet and sour pork, fried rice, mandu, and green bean casserole that was giving to us by Amy. Two years in a row someone has blessed us with green bean casserole on Thanksgiving! God really does care about green beans!
We are so thankful for our school community. Friday night we spent with our school family.We are blessed by a wonderful community of friends who have become our family here. I am also thankful that have a residence director who is from Tennessee so our Thanksgiving meal included lots of yummy goodness- turkey, ham, corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, biscuits, mandu, kim and rice, and then lots of wonderful food that individual staff brought to share. There was SO much food! We are so blessed. The food spanned from one end of the gym to another. That's what you call a full "court" meal!
Thanksgiving would not be complete without Eric George's corn dog turkey!
We were thankful that our kids were on the mend enough and had enough antibiotics in them that we could attend this beautiful evening. As always, Zachary found his friends- young and old- to play with and Shelby Grace was passed around from arm to arm so I actually got to eat my dinner! We are so thankful that our children are so loved!

These nights have become a favorite for our family, especially Zachary. We are so thankful for the single teachers and RA's who bless our school with their fun personalities and love for our students. They have braved coming to Korea on their own and we love having the opportunity to bring them into our family. Each French Toast Fest has different faces but we average about 12 each time. Of course we have our regulars like Sarah and Kirsten. French Toast Fest wouldn't be the same without them!
To make this a Thanksgiving French Toast Fest, I made pumpkin french toast as well as the regular. Both were very delicious!
Thought I would show you how Zachary shared his sparkly necklaces with Mr. Mike. He was so special he got to wear all three! We sure do love our friends!

We sure do love our friends!Sunday we had another small Thanksgiving feast with Laura, Kacy, and Sara Price. Darren was away in Hong Kong so the girls joined us for turkey and leftovers from the Friday night feast. We are so thankful for their friendship and their kindness to our family. They one floor below us and are one of the main reasons why our transition to Korea was so smooth.
By the end of the weekend our hearts and tummies were full. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with a family away from family. We can't replace our loved ones and we missed getting to spend time with them but we were well taken care of. We are so thankful for technology that connects us to our family back home. I am so thankful that this year we had a new little bundle of joy to celebrate. I never thought my heart be this full of love. I am blessed with a loving husband and two beautiful children. We have so much to be thankful for and we hope that you do too.
